DC-3 airplane wreck - Eyvindarholt - Iceland 3

DC-3 wreck at Eyvindarholt in South Iceland: interior shows rusted fuselage with missing floor panels and damaged wall panels. The cabin contrasts with the bare, hilly landscape surrounding it.

Background information

The Douglas DC-3 made its first flight in 1944 and later served with the US Navy. After an incident at Sauðanes in 1969, the fuselage was eventually moved to Eyvindarholt.
