The Scheveningen Pier in The Hague juts out over the wide sandy beach and the North Sea. On the beach visitors sunbathe and many swim in the sea.
Background information
The current pier was built in 1959–1961 to replace the earlier pier. After closure due to fire and safety defects, the upper deck was reopened in July 2015 following a major renovation.
