View of Vlissingen's skyline
An aerial photograph taken from the asphalt path along the dunes, looking out over the bay toward the Ruyter boulevard in Vlissingen. The marram grass along the dyke is golden-yellow from the raking light of the setting sun. In the distance the skyline, dominated by the round Sardijnentoren and various apartment complexes, forms a stark contrast with the natural beauty of the beach and the Western Scheldt. The wooden groynes in the water emphasize the authentic Zeeland coastal character. This photo captures the balance between nature and urban development along the Dutch coast.
