Eusebiuskerk and John Frostbrug in Arnhem, Netherlands

This is a photo of the River Rhine at Arnhem. On the left we see the Sint Eusebiuskerk and on the right the famous John Frostbrug, originally called Rijnbrug. This bridge played an important leading role in World War II because of the airborne landing and battle of the Allied troops in September 1944 as part of Operatie Market Garden. The bridge is named after the English lieutenant-colonel John Dutton Frost and has become a place of pilgrimage for veterans, bereaved and other interested people concerning the Slag om Arnhem.
